Quality of food for breakfast was good.
Plenty of hot water for shower.

The hotel is beautiful and loved the purple chairs and sofas. Very regal. Our room was very clean and the bed so comfy that I slept in and nearly missed breakfast.

The hotel is fresh as refurbished. Lovely bar & restaurant. Close to town, although on a cliff so no direct access to the beach.

It’s a relic from the 1970’s. A relic that in many ways killed Folkestone’s future aspirations. A vast budget hotel, with mostly nastily furnished budget rooms, that its current owners, Britannia Hotels have to fill, regardless of price, whatever the season. Bus tours, migrants, whoever. Its vast room capacity drags down the room rates for all other hotels and fuels an ever downward spiral for Folkestone. Budget tourists, even more budget, nee depressed town. So sad.

Clean, cheap, parking in the back, good spot regarding beach and town. If you are spending more time outside and need just a place to sleep and shower, it's perfect. It's not 5 star luxury, but I wasn't aiming for that. I will be using it again.

Folkstone is a very friendly place to visit, loads of places to eat and drink.
The only downside was the food stall on the harbour closed too early it would have been nice if they stayed open longer.

Thge usual nasty little Englanders prevail in this most Brexit-voting of districts. However there are some nice harbourside pubs which were well-run and friendly (I would particularly recommend The Harbour Inn which despite it's rather busy location is an excellent pub, welcoming and well-run.
Folkestone is a town in two halves. I stayed in the harbour area when I would have enjoyed staying nearer the venue I was attending, and would have enjoyed better facilities in the mid town area, I would conclude.

Folkestone has a lot to offer especially because it's close to other places as many coastal it is suffering a bit I would also say if you don't like steps or extremely steep hills even in the town centre then it may not be for you.

Lovely central location with something for everyone.
Lovely central location with something for everyone.
Lovely walks as a whole family.
A good range of shops, restaurants, pubs and bars.
Canterbury was 20-30 minute drive away which was lovely as we went on a boat tour and saw the stunning cathedral.
We were able to get to mist places on foot and there was a lot to do.
Parks, beach, harbor arm, cinema, shops and lots of lovely sights.
We had a lovely Greek dinner on the harbor arm, however, it was quite expensive. We had a chicken gyros, a lamb one, a chicken gyros bowl, chips and some hummus with pitta and it was £60.

It wasn't my first choice (I was catching the channel ferry and I would have preferred to have been in Dover) but what a pleasant surprise. I was travelling with my dog and I was amazed at how dog friendly the town was. I particularly liked the coastal walks and I enjoyed reading the informational plaques around the town. One thing I found so touching was Remembrance Road adorned with the handmade poppies. I was struck by how much effort the council has devoted to highlighting Folkestone's attractions and making them accessible to visitors. I enjoyed just wandering around the town with my dog and appreciating it's history and sights. Folkestone turned out to be a serendipitous experience and I'm glad that I didn't stay in Dover.

The hotel was great the harbour area was nice the hotel was a good way from town centre and railway station and there’s lack of a supermarket down by the harbour but there are some nice shops and restaurants in the harbour area some of them are expensive
As I have a mobility scooter we were relocated to a ground floor room. This, for obvious reasons, was not the executive room for which I had paid. Also, we did not get the continental breakfast for which I had paid, at £6 per person per night. So, I reckon we are due a partial refund. I have to say, however, that John was superb and a credit to the hotel. He helped me get my scooter in and out of the hotel, as all entrances had steps.
My stay at Sunny Lodge was perfect! Mike, the proprietor, was gracious about my late check-in and just as friendly and welcoming as the other reviews have mentioned. He assigned me a room that was spacious and spotlessly clean. The hotel was quiet and well-located within short walking distance of grocery stores and shops. Folkestone is a charming town, and if you get a chance to stay there, be sure to reserve a room at Sunny Lodge!
The stay here was perfect from beginning to end. The hotel staff made sure we had a lovely stay, with a towel made into a birthday cake for my partner and very kindly a birthday card too. The room service and housekeeping were very attentive and the breakfast was out of this world. Sea view room and lovely surroundings, Folkestone is underated!
Thank you for making our stay extra special,
Beautiful property in an idyllic setting and just two minutes from the Eurotunnel. Didn’t have time to sample breakfast at the hotel but had a great one packed for us by the owners. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and very quiet. Will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend a stay here.
We had one of the newly refurbished rooms, which was excellent. Breakfast was lovely too.
Just a note to the management, although the new shower is super modern, it is perhaps not very practical for the hotel as the shower door doesn't hold the water within the low profile tray and may cause some trouble.
This is the 3rd time I've stayed in this accommodation in less than a year because I love being in Folkestone and I love this little place. The location is perfect for getting around to other places in Kent, the facilities are like home from home and the rooms are clean and extremely comfortable.
Zoe was a wonderful host. She accommodated our daughter at the last minute, was very helpful, and the. property was gorgeous. We would totally stay there if ever we went back to Folkestone. We just wish we had had more time there. Thank you Zoe.
This delightful Victoria terrace is the perfect home from home. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. With an easy walk to Folkestone town Center. We are looking forward to staying there ago when we are in Folkestone
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is very well located for access to the Channel Tunnel. The harbour area of Folkestone is attractive and worth a visit and about 10-15 minutes drive from the hotel.
This hotel was a lovely find & perfectly located to visit Folkestone (which we'd never visited before - wish we had been there longer?) The restaurant was excellent & the staff very friendly & helpful - we will be back!
Plumbing needs work, whole building and quite a lot of doors damaged in hall ways. Needs some investment to up grade. But price reflex's decorations. Hotel functions well and entertainment was good.location excellent.
The hosts are wonderful! I loved my room. I recommend the sausages at breakfast. If the weather is good, have a seat on the terrace and soak up some sun. Will definitely be my first choice of hotel in Folkestone.
The hotel itself was really nicely decorated and our room was lovely. Beautifully decorated and very clean. Good attention to detail and everything we could have needed for our stay
Folkestone is my home town and absolutely love visiting at least couple of times a year and always book the southcliff hotel as you know what to expect for the price you pay.
Hotel did a huge improvement in refurbishment, new bathrooms, carpets and furniture. Great location. We always have a wonderful shot break in Folkestone.
